This specially design tour includes a guided tour of Union Station and La Plaza de Cultura y Artes, two essential downtown Los Angeles locations. At La Plaza, we will also get to hear Dr. Keith Barton talk about this newly co-written book, Curriculum for Justice and Harmony: In a world beset by conflict, inequality, and oppression, we must help students of all ages learn to work toward justice and harmony. This means guiding them as they deliberate social issues, and engaging them with the knowledge needed to care about others, listen to differing voices, and make wise decisions to bring about a better world. The event is perfect for K-12 educators, especially those working in Social Studies. We only have 36 spaces open and welcome anyone to participate (you don't have to be a teacher). Itinerary:
Masks will be required at all indoor spaces and highly recommended in outdoor spaces. Please wear comfortable walking shoes! |
