Join SCSSA for a historical walking tour of Pasadena. We will start at Pasadena Central Park and make a 5.5 mile loop with restrooms and stops along the way. The Del Mar Metro station is very close so public transportation is recommended.


Meeting Location: The northwest corner of Pasadena Central Park, which is at fair Oaks Avenue and E. Dayton St..


Recommended Parking: The Schoolhouse parking lot at 36 S Fair Oaks Ave, Pasadena, CA 91105 ($6 per day)


Some highlights include:

  • Gilded Age Glamour: See the opulent 1898 Castle Green from Pasadena’s early resort era.
  • Masterpiece Architecture: Marvel at the world-famous 1907 Blacker House and iconic 1927 City Hall.
  • Footsteps of Genius: Stroll through Caltech and pass the historic home where Albert Einstein lived.
  • Roaring '20s Design: Admire stunning Art Deco and Beaux-Arts facades from Pasadena's commercial boom.
  • Historic Route 66: Walk the famous "Mother Road" and spot a rare 1902 highway marker.


An optional community lunch will take place at Stone Brewing Tap Room after the tour.


Wear comfortable shoes, wear sunscreen, and bring an umbrella/hat if you want to get protection from the sun.
